Idk yall Im not feeling how women are treated in this book fr; maybe that’s an intentional ode to Caribbean machismo and the toxic virility which exists in many Jamaican men- which is cool and great- but I feel as tho the lack of SOME form of justice for the women of these stories is a lil off putting.

First chapter made me cry tears of resonance, second made me smile (as this is the first time i’ve read patwa [tho it was the uptown dialect] in a book so extensively) but also made me vex badddd (gsym Topper), three was so ??? lmao, four was cute but sad (#007), five was soooo frustrating #justiceforcukie, now on six.
