I ship Isabella with general tilney. He has some fortune he can help her with, she’ll give him compliments on his hobbies and that’s enough for him. Love to him would be compliments on his hobbies and she can go and do what she wants.

I could easily finish the last 2 chapters right now but ugh how I don’t wish for this beautiful novel to end :(

Overall I'm enjoying it, but I don't love how the narrator (Juliet Stevenson) reads the dialogue-- she makes Catherine sound a bit ridiculous with the voice she's using for the heroine. I always love this book, though, and Ms. Stevenson does a wonderful job at reading narration.

Eh, Isabella’s just a flirt who wants a rich husband, does not care for love. Poor James*, someone should have told her directly though, not through hints, to not do that. Luckily the stakes were low + James will get over it. She needs a senpai. She needs to be in 21st century society + not have to hide + shamed for what she wants. Since they’re dependent on it + it’s known, why can they not speak openly.

“Why he should say one thing so positively, and mean another all the while, was most unaccountable! How were people, at that rate? To be understood?” She’s so real. Anyone like me who does understand sarcasm unless the tone is very clear like chandler in friends and Howard in big bang theory.
