This is twice now the author has suggested asking creatives/vendors for free stuff or free work in exchange for publicity or goodwill. Free publicity and goodwill means absolutely nothing and never helps the other person out. DON'T DO THIS. If you are asking them for their time, then pay them.

I'm going to stop you right there. No creative should ever trade for "word of mouth." Don't take advantage of them by ripping them off for their hard work and just giving them a thumps up in exchange.
