This last chapter made me feel like my heart is in my throat and I’m so confused, I don’t know why. But I know whatever this was that just happened is super important and now I’m scared.

And I hate McBryde and Aurelia.

Not sure how I feel about this book right now, but I am trying to press on

From Ch. 30 • Sunday Dinner • onward is my faaavourite part of the novel (mmkay, maybe from Ch. 27 • The Captain Returns • haha) I actually modeled it sort of on the last 10-ish chapter of The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Emmuska Orczy where everything just CAREENS to the end with so much adrenaline 😍

I dunno, I just really love these characters & this story-world 😭 Ohh yes, there's bias in there 'cause I'm the author haha buut this tale has taken on a life of its own apart from me & re-reading it is like re-visiting old friends 🖤
