Ok, I've had more time to consider...not as good as D. E. Stevenson's, Mrs. Tim, but still very enjoyable.

If you enjoy the Mrs. Tim Christie books....you need to try this.

Hilarious! They have an anachronism party. One person brings a cookbook with the line: “Take the yolks of eight eggs and a point of cream”. The winner gets 3 onions. Lady B wins with the line of poetry: “The Carpenter said nothing but ‘The butter’s spread too thick.’”

Sad but very amusing.

Oh my, the letter about the lack of bathing huts made me howl with laughter! 🤣
