Status Updates From Major Pettigrew's Last Stand

This is so charming! It has wonderful vocabulary, a lovely setting in England, and a blossoming romance between two widows. It also addresses some pretty clear racism issues in a way that is polite and not so “in your face” as some other books try to do. I appreciate that these issues aren’t ignored, but that they also don’t interrupt the main story.
