Much has been said about Laura Kinsale's prose and character work, but I need to give this woman credit for her research! This book must have been suuuch an undertaking and it is paying off in spades!

A never-ending book 🫠

On top of Quaker Plain Speech there is now dandy slang 🫠🫠🫠 I admire the depth of the research that went into writing this book, but it’s so hard to understand! What next? Cockney?
