DNF will get back to again! I felt like I could follow which is a lot to say because i usually get very lost with ancient literature

As expected, the introduction was, well, an introduction. The editor spent time introducing the general ideas of each book and explaining certain things which could be misconstrued or difficult to grasp. Throughout the preface and introduction there were a few quotes either from St Gregory, St John, or the editor which were edifying, but mostly primed the reader for more in depth exploration deeper into the work.
