I read a bit of this on the treadmill today. A psychologist on the Foundation’s home planet is attempting to predict the next crisis. There’s also apparently a mutant warlord provoking war with the Foundation.

The first part of this book ends kind of abruptly with the Emperor getting suspicious of his lead general and second-hand man. The war ends prematurely.

The captured trader bates the emperor’s second-hand man into a power grab. Soon after the docile consultant knocks the general over the head with something like a snow globe.
