Searching for the right word, here - exaggerated? sickeningly effusive? saccharine? cloying? mawkish? The purple prose is way over the top, almost absurd. And I can’t believe how pompous and utterly spoiled Siddhartha is. His “otherness” is pathetic, selfish, detached from reality, over-spiritualised. I came close to throwing the book across the room. May end up DNF-ing
