Sat 110825 - 36 ORD Dining Table w/Larry & Stitch - Yesterday’s reflection was spot on wisdom. “Emotions arise when beliefs are challenged.” I’ve experienced that w/my past job, losing my job, & starting my new job at a very different company. I’ve been getting into a better rhythm w/my work days at home & still making time for my personal life needs & wants. Feeling good. Happy with how our life is going.

Sat 110125 - 36 ORD Dining Table - It’s a cloudy day. We absolutely loved & had so much fun joining Wayne & Connie for Trunk or Treat in Findlay last night & our extended family dinner at Monical’s. We enjoyed dressing up as Wolverine & Rogue, my all time best costume ever!! It was sweet to see so many kids all dressed up in their cute costumes & spread some cheer. Ethan was Where’s Waldo & went to Hetler’s.

Thurs 103025 - 36 ORD Dining Table - It’s been over a month since I paused to read this & I’ve missed it so much that today I spent time over my breakfast break to read all the reflections since last time. There’s so much wisdom here, pausing to read it helped me slow down & reconnect with my inner soul. I needed this today to help refocus on the positive & the present as life has been moving too fast lately.

Fri 092625 - Ver’s House Roger’s Park Chicago - Mom’s Birthday today & she’s here too! - I drove up yesterday for the Open House at the RoviSys Chicago Office in Oakbrook. That was a lot of fun & I enjoyed meeting more people & catching up w/familiar faces. Cool way to spend my 9th working day w/RoviSys. I’m thoroughly loving my new role & work & the people so far. Very positive change & transition for me.

Fri 091925 - Hampton Inn Room 123 Streetsboro, OH - it’s been a fantastic onboarding week for my new job far exceeding my expectations. I’ve learned so much & jumped right into some interesting big new opportunities. The diversity I have in my assignments is exactly what I was anticipating & my new colleagues are all supportive & collaborative. The support of my friends & family has meant the world to me.

Mon 091525 - Hampton Inn, Streetsboro, OH - I’d fallen behind on reading this, glad I brought it on my trip. So many nuggets of wisdom that resonate as I embark on the next phase of my career & life, such as “Embrace the absolute truth of change, & then notice how much safer you feel” and “Wisdom is understanding the connection of all things; enlightenment is being that connection.” Excited for today!

Tues 090225 - VH1 Glass Table w/Lucy grooming in her window hammock & Alli - Alli & I will be going car shopping in Muskegon & Comstock Park to look at Honda CR-Vs & Jeep Patriots for her. I’m happy to be visiting here w/her after the lovely Labor Day weekend. We are excited to go to Mackinaw Island w/Larry this Friday for the 8 Mile Walk. Savoring the memories from last weekend together as a family.

Fri 082925 - 36 ORD Dining Table - August is already rapidly coming to a close. We are excited to be heading north to Spring Lake this afternoon for Labor Day weekend w/the kids & to celebrate Ver & Jay’s 20th Anniversary. Summer is waning. The cooler temps have been lovely. “The emotions of daily life are the stuff of our transformation.” These offer insights to ourselves - helpful to ponder this a bit.

Thurs 082125 - 36 ORD at Alli’s Glass Corner Desk overlooking Lake Decatur - Living every moment fully & setting an intention for the day are latest practices she suggests. I have been doing a lot of “savoring the moment” especially w/Ethan lately & trying to stay fully in the present. My intention for today is to be productive & happy. Setting a daily intention would be an excellent practice to adopt!

Sun 081725 - 36 ORD - Hanging out w/Larry this morning before I go to Chicago for Ethan’s Parent Orientation at Loyola tomorrow. I’m SO excited about that!! The last few days wisdom nuggets are lovely: wasted time is time I spend not being present w/my life, staying in touch w/your sense of wonder, & great satisfaction can come from a clean kitchen (or other clean space). Definitely all good to keep in mind.

Tues 081225 - 36 ORD - Our life is what we are making of it. Still doing my best making the most of a less structured time to recharge my heart & soul. My sabbatical has fueled my being. Reading a lot has been so invigorating for me over the past year. I’ve loved having the free time to do that more as part of my life; that’s never been the case before w/so many other obligations weighing on me. Time to go walk.

Friday 080825 - 36 ORD Glass Corner Desk Overlooking Basin 1 to the West, Sunny Windy Day - Our baby girl is 25 today!! Holy Cow! We are very happy for her. It’s been good for me to be back in Decatur this week to catch up on things & get back to more of what has been my normal routine on sabbatical. Savoring these last days of summer & having more freedom in my life while I still can do so.

Fri 080125 - VH1 Glass Table w/Lucy curled up beside me in my chair & Justin practicing Tuba; Ethan’s working in his room - Looking forward to Alli being home tonight & Larry returning early tomorrow for a fun weekend. August already…! Summer is flying. It’s been a refreshing week here. I walked over 2.41 miles today, 5th day walking in a row & longest one. Feeling better w/daily exercise. Savoring sabbatical.

Weds 072325 - 36 ORD - Feels good to be getting back to reading this every day as part of my healthy daily rhythms. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed having my friend Christine Knuth visit here in Decatur since yesterday. We had a lovely dinner at The Beach House w/Larry last night. My salmon was cooked perfectly & paired so nicely w/my summer spinach salad w/blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, & poppyseed dressing.

Fri 071825 - 36 ORD Dining Table - I made time this morning to catch up on reading this so I can return to reading this daily as part of my reflection self-care time. It had been nearly a month since I read this, even though I brought it on trips with me. The last month has been an intense ride for me. Happy for some time alone the last 2 weeks to reconnect & plan ahead. It’s been nourishing & needed for my soul.

Thurs 061925 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Still savoring memories from our time together in MI for Emily’s wedding, what a spectacular weekend! I love some of the recent thoughts, including becoming softer so I can fully receive life, giving myself permission to be happy, being curious about reality, & listening is being willing to be changed by what we hear. My sabbatical has helped me with all of this. Life is grand

Sat 061425 - Room 419 at DoubleTree Hilton overlooking Saginaw River & tent for Emily & Jerardo’s wedding reception - We are so excited to be here to celebrate w/Alli, Ethan, & Justin. It was a nice trip up yesterday w/Larry in the VW & we met up w/Ethan & Justin at The Real Seafood Company for dinner at 8 pm. It’s a gorgeous sunny Michigan day out there, perfect for Emily’s wedding. :) Going for a walk soon.

Tues 061025 - 36 ORD Dining Table - Enjoying my morning coffee, Buzz grrrng contentedly nearby, & the beautiful birdsong outside along w/the lovely Lake Decatur view that never gets old. Remembering to be present today. Other recent insights are being committed to the process of getting to my goals so that I allow new learning to shape my way, & letting go so that I can embrace the flow of life w/ease & grace.
