This is slow going but I’m loving every page. Oden introduced this book by saying, “I consider this text to be an introduction to its footnotes,” and he hasn’t disappointed. It’s wonderful to see the continuity of Christian tradition through the centuries, with quotations and references to theologians, philosophers, and thinkers from all ages.
