Status Updates From Operation ARES

Wolfe meets Ray Bradbury while out on a picnic and they came up with this. It's sharp but doesn't bite. It reads like it was neutered but also like it was Wolfe trying to figure out how much of what he thinks is cool should be in a book.

My dumb ass left this book on my couch's arm when I was scrambling out the door today. Boo.

Wolfe is conveying the feeling of disorientation that John is experiencing, but not in a enjoyable way, could this abrupt jumps between scenes and chapters be editorial meddlings?

the conversation between John and the Loth was quite good

very close to DNF

if it wasn't covered in "the Gene Wolfe Literary Podcast" I would have DNF'd long ago

Everything was fine up to chapter 4, from then on every change in paragraph and chapter has been disorienting as hell.

This hate on science is very reminiscent of the movie "interstellar"

I know this book is not liked by much, if by any as even Wolfe disowned it.

But so far chapter 1 I have liked, I wonder when will the tide turn?

I'm intrigued by what's been left unsaid: mars broadcasting propaganda to earth?, are the savages humans? Ares obviously in reference to mars
