"I was only seventeen when I lied my way into the US Army and the unit I was with spent a year and a half at Kimpo airport, near Seoul... The Koreans looked at us as saviours of their country, because at the time they hoped that all of Korea was going to be free. As we know, this never happened. I used to wonder what kind of saviours we were, though. I was just a kid with a gun."
