Status Updates From Little Town in the Ozarks (...

I liked learning the historical bits, how people felt about events back then. I liked when things started getting better about living in town, debate was interesting, the pie supper, Rose and Paul were cute, hopefully they end up together. Rose’s illness was so sudden and the pacing was a bit odd having it happen right before the end of the book. It felt over suddenly.

2-28.pg237. The last book I read messed me up so bad on reading. A month later and I’m still not in the mood. It took a while for this to pick up, I wasn’t in the mood for it but I liked the debate and the tale of the yarbwoman.

2-22. pg35. It had been so long since I read the previous book I couldn’t remember why they needed to move into town.

Jan 4 Some more interesting things happened like the supper and more changes of scenery and new things. Town came to grow on me more by the end. I couldn’t help but feel this felt very different from previous books. The timeline was harder to follow, more time passed, and the characters spoke differently. It felt like it ambled on randomly without a smooth timeline I’m used to.

Got some reading done at work so made more progress. Th debate was interesting and I’m glad Abe and Swiney have come into the story to make it feel more like home. But I don’t like town life on the whole with all the changes and the boarders. Things are just too different and not good.

I’m glad I read as much as I did, didn’t read until this evening after supper. Too busy at work. A slow start but one exciting scene so far to liven things up. A change of scenery should be nice but I want them to be back at the farm already!
