ok so this is a comment I really should have made on page 1 but as i have gotten further into this book I am still struck by how "He came one late, wet spring, and brought the wide world back to my doorstep." might be one of the best opening sentences of any book I've ever read ever. overall the beginning of this book is just immaculate so far ❤️🩹
