Top of 17, this is depressing, still on the same section. Very good!! I am really enjoying the writing. The mom is low key crazy, and the way that Norma looks at her is sad.

- very short, very interesting, puts Norma in a outside perspective. The ending of this section sets up the romance aspects of the book (dark and the desire for true love? (Maybe)

Bruhh. Incredibly provocative so far. This man came home and actually r**ed his wife. Awful awful scene. Written too well, it made me uncomfortable. And Marilyn was continuously sexualized as a child. All the fucking time. She’s done actually nothing wrong yet she’s the fucking center of all of this lust and violence. The 30s were a crazy time.

No clear narrative besides the fact that I know it’s Marilyn Monroe. Poetic language and incredibly all over the place. Seems like it’s going somewhere special tho

This book is already a masterpiece! The complexity of the characters has been written so well...my heart is already bleeding and I know there is so much more to come

The intro was very good, it gives a great intro to the concepts and major themes
