this is very very very good actually. there are these paragraphs of just pure brilliant beauty that always catch me off guard in the best way.
i am however unfortunately having that issue i occasionally have with books where there is very oblique dialogue with then massive implications but due to this obliqueness and my autism and this being written in the 50s im having a lot of trouble catching all the implications.

on page 12 i realised what kind of novel this is and went I wonder if they'll mention oxford in this and then literally page 13 hes like fuuuck i gotta go to my oxford interview. SHUT YP SHUT UP SHUT UP
