this last chapter was a crazy read. ch.5

ch.4 invites readers to decode every day symbols and the role in perpetrating white supremacy. she explores how seemingly neutral cultural artifacts ( currency, language, popular media, religious icons, sports, etc.) carry deeper racial meanings when interpreted through the lens of systemic ideology. These symbols are embedded with historical power dynamics, reinforcing narratives of dominance/inferiority

lowkey this read made sense and didn’t make sense.
like it talked about quantum physics and a intricate new set of edifice that makes up a unified psychiatry theory and tbh i’m like uhhhh

good. thus chapter is titled:
alienation, anxiety, and narcissism.
alienation in the sense that the first white mutated albino were rejected and alienated by their black parents. anxiety is a result of the rejection of these albino. The fear of albino isolation, abandonment, and genetic annihilation.
narcissism in the white supremacy dynamic is created as a form of compensation for the alienation and anxiety.

it’s good. this read started upon the premise of alienation, anxiety, and narcissism. It started off talking about how alienation began when people in Africa, who were born albino, or with white skin were seen as defective, and so they were alienated to other parts of the world, specifically Europe.

chapter 1: The Cress theory of color, confrontation, and racism talks about how whiteness in the skin is actually a global minority. And people of white skin realize this and so they are jealous of people with dark skin and so they try to create this systemic order of subjugation and inferiority of non-whites.
