Status Updates From Peter Pan

This book is quite interesting.

The characters are nothing like I pictured them being as a little girl.
Peter Pan is vain and selfish (he “thins out” lost boys when they get to old, aka kills them), Tink is full of jealously and enjoys using foul words, Smee enjoys killing, and Hook is like he had always been.

But besides that, the prose is delightful and it feels like a story told by an old friend.

I have a thing for collecting books I want to read to my future children, as I want them to all grow up with a whimsy, bookish childhood full of adventure and fun. This is definitely going on the list. I feel like a kid again reading this, transported to a world of fairies and dog-nurses and small boys who can fly

“You see, Wendy, when the first baby laughed for the first time, it laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies.”

“Of course, the Neverlands [children’s minds] vary a good deal. John’s, for instance, had a lagoon with flamingos flying over it which John was shooting, while Micheal, who was very small, had a flamingo with a lagoon flying over it.”

“There was never a simpler happier family until the coming of Peter Pan.”

Resulta Wendy, que cuando el primer niño rió por primera vez, su risa se rompió en mil pedazos que saltaron por los aires, y ése fue el principio de las hadas.

Las estrellas son hermosas pero no pueden tomar parte en nada lo único que pueden hacer es mirar y mirar es un castigo que les tocó por algo que hicieron hace tanto tiempo que ninguna de ellas sabe lo que fue
