The conflict is them not practicing to win the championship. Author is doing really good he is on varsity as a freshman. William was doing really good but was kicked off the team. He got kicked off the team for getting into a fight.

The main character is Author. He is A very good basketball player, but comes from avery poor family. He got scouted but they are not able to pay tution. He just made varsity and was doing good than got kicked out.
