Short books but I eat them up

There is honestly not a lot I like about this book when I really think about it (like Loren was a dick in the beginning, I didn't like Bex most of the time, their plan to keep their relationship a secret was stupid). What I did like was revisiting Carey & Rowan and Spider & Emery (and Kaipo), but the main couple? Didn't like those two, which is a bit of a bummer.

I also hate how it feels as if we're supposed to feel bad for Riley, after she has openly bullied Bex for years, just because Riley is apparently jealous of Bex. Because of course. I'd honestly much rather that she was just never mentioned again, and Bex got to live her life out from under her thumb instead of this attempt of trying to almost redeem Riley. I don't want her to be redeemed, dammit.

So I have never been part of a sorority and never will (we don't have those in EU), but I have a really hard time believing they'd publicly humiliate a sister in front of their guests. I mean, don't they have reputation and appearance to uphold? You'd think they'd keep that behind locked doors and not for everyone to see. Also this sorority in particular is very toxic and not about sisterhood at all.

Bex can't honestly be mad at Loren for playing along with HER idea aka act as if he still likes Riley. Do you see now, Bex, how your oh so great plan is flawed? And hurts everyone involved? Huh? God, this book is making my head hurt. Only Carey & Rowen and Spider & Emery (and Kaipo) makes this book somewhat bearable tbh.

I still think it's stupid that Bex is making Loren "date" Riley until the party is over as not to "make things worse" for her. I'm sorry, what? Isn't it much worse to find out the guy you're dating has been secretly dating your cousin all week? Personally I think it's worse to scam Riley like thie, even if I don't like her. Bex' logic is very much flawed, and Loren is too much of a whimp to go against her wishes.

Another thing: Riley, Bex' cousin, is just a horrible person. I get that she doesn't like Bex, but calling anyone "deaf, blind and ugly" to want to date her is just.. wow, I have no words. And all the other girls in the sorority is obviously on Riley's side, which seems like a very toxic environment to be part of (for everyone actually).

I don't care that Loren thinks he almost had a snake bike off his balls - calling Bex disgusting for having snakes as pets is out of line and not the same guy I somewhat liked in the two former books. This guy? This guy is a jerk.

I know I originally gave this 3 stars, but after this experience, I'm gonna bum it down to 2 instead *shrug*.

Huh, this book actually frustrated me way more, that I thought it would. Sure, Loren and Bex had a few sweet moments, but 1) Bex forcing Loren to keep dating Riley was fucked up and wrong and 2) the whole conflict/climax was just... no, I have no words. Ugh, I'm really left in a bad mood after this book, which sucks as I really liked the first two.. So now I'm bummed. Yay.

To be honest, this just doesn't seem like something Riley's character would do; admit she's been treating Bex like crap because she's been jealous all along. I mean, it's too good to be true and, to be frank, it actually pisses me that she actually thought her reasoning was fair.

Like last time, I'm having a really hard time believing, that a sorority sisterhood would PUBLICLY shame one of their sisters. It's one thing to treat Bex like crap behind closed doors, but this was a party, where there's people from the "outside" attending. I might not live in the US, but this just seems a bit extreme.. Or at least, I hope it is...
