Status Updates From Black Bolshevik: Autobiogra...

"Nationalism, which Garvey diverted under the slogan of Back to Africa, was an authentic trend, likely to flare up again in periods of crisis and stress. Such a movement might again fall under the leadership of utopian visionaries who would seek to divert it from the struggle against the main enemy, U.S. imperialism, and on to a reactionary separatist path"

Pretty neat Harry Haywood met all these high ranking Bolsheviks during his time in the USSR. Surprised he even had an encounter with Stalin!

I also appreciate he goes in depth with the incorrectness of Trotsky's position during the 1920s and in detail with the factional struggles that were happening within the CPUSA then too.

Universities of the Peoples of the East: "Proletarian in content, national in form"

Interesting hearing about the relationships among comrades of the CPUSA at this time and how the impacted the Fourth Convention of the CPUSA

Seems Harry Haywood is also quite fond of State and Revolution by Lenin

"Secret Information Concerning Black American Troops" is a crazy document I am learning about for the first time here.

"The US Supreme Court upheld Jim Crow in the Plessy vs. Ferguson decision in 1896, declaring that legislation is powerless to eradicate 'racial instincts' and establishing the principle of 'separate but equal.'"

Racial instincts implies racism is just innate and biological in nature.
