I love this book so much! If it continues to be like this I'll definitely rate it 5 stars. I *heart* flawed characters.

Kinda different from what I usually read, different pace, too, but boy do I like this book.

Tyler is hard to like. Really hard.

And be smart-mouthing the only person who appears to be helping you?

Not buying these characters.

All done! Satisfying--very!--ending, even with the perfectly worked in groundwork for the sequel.

Other thought: the physical intimacy scenes are kinda... uneven. (Which is something I noticed in other Davitt novels.) There's been decent tension building but a lackluster "let me help u blow off steam" scene paired with a fabulous "let me watch you but guy says no and ends in the other running out of bathroom" scene.

Aw, me thinks Tyler is the more fucked up one (not that it's a competition). Just hides behind his angry closed-off-ness. Well, I guess they both have issues, just different ones and where they are strong complements the others' weakness.

Aww, what an appealing mix of desperate-for-approval and I've-got-it-and-I don't-need-you.

But still, despite the confidence and humour, Dan seems as if he's hiding a deep vulnerability. And desire for acceptance. Comments such as the one he jokingly, confidently, asks Tyler, "Good riddance to bad rubbish?"

Dan is surprisingly spunky and confident despite his--I'm assuming--rough past.

Lol! The metaphors in this book! They be awesome! No cliches here: "nerves like shredded Kleenex"; "words squeezed out of him like toothpaste."

Goody! (I won't say anything else for fear of jinxing it.)

Off to a good start.
