Torn between appreciating Mellors' confidence in provoking the upper classes... and hating the way he talks about women. It's like all these "classic" authors had to take out their distain for women in some way, whether via badly-written female characters or misogynistic men.

I like this line:
"To be ashamed and make one feel ashamed, how awful. What a pity most men are so doggy; a bit shameful."

Loving this- Denser than I expected, but at least I have no time to read.
Still, it has me giggling and kicking my feet.
