Status Updates From The It Girl

A2- Robyn (works at bookstore with H) brings decaf for H. H leaves work and searches for news on J, died at 63 in prison. H waits at home for W, tells him of the news. He seems unbothered, responds “good”, then moves on to asking about supper.

B2- first day of college, H’s mum (J) goes with her, she meets roommate April who seems to be rich. A decided that H would take the room she didn’t want, H was impressed with the smaller room anyhow. A had a man setting up her room with new furniture, he worked for her parents. He left and A popped a bottle of champagne open to share, gift from her dad.

A1- Hannah working in a bookshop, she’s pregnant and (her partner?) Will keeps up with the fruit pregnancy things but she’s nauseous. Her mother, Jill, calls which is unusual, she tells of John Neville having a heart attack in prison (I assume the accused murderer).

B1- talks of the Oxford grounds. Main character and April slept up 4 flights of stairs on the left side opposite Dr Myers. His room was closed, her door open, she should’ve known something was wrong but didn’t. Recollection of April’s body on the rug, screams. She doesn’t actually remember this in the moment, had to be told later for her to know what happened.
