I’ve realised that the entire issue I have with this book is with the audio book narrator - Her breathy reading is driving me nuts, but the story is compelling me forward regardless...

Clare
Clare is starting
Joice Loch is my honest to god all time hero and that is the ONLY reason I'm persevering with this despite De Vries' writing being unbearably frustrating and stilted, and the narrator (Diana Rubenstein or someone?) making everything sound horrifically trite. I would much prefer to read Loch's own autobiographies but they are nearly impossible to find.

And thus, she persisted.
