Status Updates From The Dickens with Love

The Dickens with Love certainly does not live up to Josh Lanyon's usual high standards thus far. Hard to imagine that will change in the last third of the audiobook.

I rang up a few hundred books on automatic pilot and the line to the bank of registers never grew any shorter. I spared a glance for my fellow sweating, flushed sales associates. We were like the last centurions, backs to the wall, facing down the barbarian hordes.

Been there - done that. Shudder .....

The only reason I'm reading this is for the "book set during Christmas" part of my reading challenge and this is ridiculous. Too many descriptions of angels and quivering. Pffffffffffffftttttt. And who internally monologues including the word "fellatio" during sex?
