Stupid book so far.

The musings on life and love have shades of my favorites... Courtney Milan, Lisa Kleypas, etc. There's some fun banter if you choose to suspend your disbelief and ignore the coercive (if not rapey) undertones. It definitely has dom/sub vibes but never fully commits or has any outright kink like these HP books do randomly. She does kneel for the proposal and she does sit on his lap a lot. That's as far as it goes.

Ideally, the author could have written a book with all the good parts and without the stupid parts and the "melting the ice queen" trope played totally seriously. But I can't hate it. Going into it knowing it's very much one of these forced fairytale romances, it works a lot better than some of the garbage I've read, esp in the HP range.

There are many incredibly stupid things in this book. Why does the hero have to be a self-made billionaire. He could easily be a self-made multi-millionaire and it would not change anything. His personal wealth has very little function in the story. The younger brother of the H/boss of the heroine comes across as crazy. But there's so much good writing here as well.

Even the H knows that it was a silly reasoning but that's why I 'm reading HPs. Lol
