I am trying to get through my physical TBR, and restarting this book and finally getting through it is my first move in doing so. I can’t let Grandpa Poitier down.

best part so far are his descriptions of having ice cream for the first time when he's 10 1/2 and seeing himself in a mirror.

I’m chugging slowly through this book because I start wanting to cry every 10 pages cause I’ll remember that he has passed away and so it makes this book so much harder to read. But I pledge to finish by the end of the year. Imma go back to reading rom coms where no one is dead.
