I feel like a problem I have with this book is that Tally meets Shay too early. We don't get into the mindset of Tally that well before she starts learning that her world is actually really weird. She meets Shay in chapter 3, and I think it would've been better on chapter 5-7. If we had spent more time with Tally going through her daily life and how used to everything she is, it would make more sense why...
