Loved reading all about butterflies today. I learned that their eyes are covered with a cap of transparent horn, hard and cut in facets—fine as they are, they have sharp bones which can be used as a grater. To get out of their cocoon, they writhe, knock, scratch, and file with an eye. Fascinating!

Chapters 3–7 opened a tiny world alive with wonder—of ants and their mysterious ways. These small creatures keep their own “cows,” gentle plant lice, or aphids, they tenderly milk to feed the heart of their colonies. The lice, in turn, multiply in quiet abundance, sustaining dragonflies, ladybugs, and others. So the cycle turns, life feeding life, in the graceful rhythm of God’s beautiful economy.
