Status Updates From Portrait In Passion

I'm craving old school drama regarding either railroads or land. Something like either Once Upon a Time in the West or There Will Be Blood. Romance would be nice but if there's enough drama I don't have to have it, or have it as a subplot.

The book has moved away from the railroad drama and a lot of time is being spent on the heroine's new maid. This is kind of getting boring. I have a new craving for a romance with the railroad as a large theme. Something like Once Upon a Time in the West.

If Ouida had been allowed to use the word "nipple," she would have written something like this novel.

Still loving it. The flamboyant melodrama reminds me of Ouida.

Kate's loser husband-of-one-day is penniless, disowned, slobby, & bitchy. He also paints erotica whenever he's bored with impressionism. A true prince of the finer arts. :p

Loving it so far. Victorian melodrama? Yes, please.
