This is a must-read for abolitionists. It shows how disparate rates of interpersonal violence are a result of racial capitalism. It's refreshing to read an academic book that doesn't conclude with "we need more police." In fact, the authors largely refute the narrative that the carceral system is in any way capable of resolving what they describe as a "racial-spatial divide." Instead, there must be structural change.
