Oh, I loved this one. A kind soul healing a bitter, angry peri and gathering all the things she had lost.

Daughter of the Sun by Sayantani DasGupta - 2 stars

The inspiration for this author's story breaks my heart and provides a good message. I'm not too sure about the story though, I felt as if the characters were static and in place and not dynamically moving through a plot. I couldn't really pin down what the overarching plot was.

Mirch, Masala, and Magic by Nafiza Azad - 4.5 stars

This is a really lovely story of a family supporting their own against the injustices that have been experienced and giving them the comeuppance they deserve.

This was so sweet! A celestial learning to understand humans and slowly developing a relationship with one of the nicest boys I've read about.

The Hawk's Reason by Naz Kutub - 3 stars

The romance between the two princes is sweet but the plot is a bit light. This is more like a snippet of scenes of their love for each other rather than a plot arc. The ending felt a bit abrupt.

I think this is a sweet story about a goddess coming to the aid of a poor family who had been taken advantage of by another god.

I totally did not enjoy the romance relationship but at least Shweta realizes what a useless sack of a man he is at the end.

The Collector by Sonia Charaipotra - 2 stars

I'm not sure, there's a lot of world building but I couldn't really get a feel for the the actual story. In the author's note, this story was meant to be a piece of a longer novel but could that be why it feels so disconnected to me?

Shamsuddin-Jalal by Tahir Abrar - 4 stars

A story about a boy tasked to bring back a jinn to his leader(?). He finds out that this leader actually wants the jinn for nefarious purposes. I really enjoyed the stories the jinn told the boy on their journey as they began to understand each other.

Dismantle the Sun by Sangu Mandanna - 4 stars

Cool concept. A deity created to mete out justice after the creator failed to do it on his own. I think this story would be really good if the world and plot could be expanded on in a longer novella of sorts.

Infinite Drift by Olivia Chadha - 2 stars

This is the first sci-fi story and I think the premise of this story is quite cool. I just don't think I was in the mood to read sci-fi and my brain did not want to keep track of all the things that were going on in here.

I think think story lacked a clear underlying conflict. I thought at first it was for Amira to defeat the evil rulers but in actuality it was more for the two girls to escape their imprisonment. which lacked more of a driving oomph and tension.
