I call Horse Hockey! This is 1945 I presume or somewhere thereabouts. The Great Depression was basically yesterday. There is NO WAY a woman from a poor farm in the sticks would throw ANYthing out. If she didn’t want her girdles and garters, she would have kept them for trade or to use as something else, NOT throw them out! And the other chick is just STUPID. Rage DNF review to come. 10/20/26

I sincerely dislike two of the three main characters who we were introduced to and we are only 6% of the way into the book. The one from the Midwest just randomly doesn’t want to be told what to do by a man, no context or background given to explain why, and ALL of the women are being described as catcalling men, drinking, smoking and using unladylike language. In the 1940s. Not believable at all…
