Lmfao, I love this character.

I hadn't realised it until I happened upon the second Gadlem scene that I'd been waiting for this man to appear again - and he did not disappoint. The sheer DRAMA of his behaviour lmfao. Theatre kid in a police chief's seat.

The constant references to how unseen the alterspace are getting a bit out of hand, but the concept is fascinating. The narrative remains gripping, I'll give him that.

This book is explaining its themes/characters/neologisms instead of letting us understand them from context. He does weave the exposition in well, but it's still noticeable.

I do like Commissar Gadlem's theatricality, though. Imagine having a boss who wanted more than anything to become a thespian and ended up heading a police precinct.
