This is one of the hardest things I have ever read. The names, there are so many. And why are there so many chapters dedicated to describing the intricate setup of Paris and gothic architecture or lack therof

To go from reading a contemporary novel to a novel from the 19th century actually gives severe whiplash. I actually have to pay attention while reading now 😪 also I’m not really understanding who the narrator because it’s someone in the 1800s detailing a story from the 1400s 🤔 interesting choice
