This book is incredibly challenging to read, but I’m determined to finish it. The complex terminology, frequent country-to-country transitions, and the multitude of diagnosis names and timelines make it difficult to follow. It’s no wonder these doctors had such a significant challenge tracking this pandemic; the evidence is difficult to comprehend, although it’s nonetheless fascinating and overwhelming.

It’s interesting to me to read a book about a disease that is about encephalitis pandemic known for such similarities to one of my diagnosis from Mayo of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) commonly known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I’m interested to see if that comes up in the book. I was instantly triggered when I started to read and a lot of history jargon usually bores me but I’m intrigued to find out more.
