Jordan’s practice habits, competitive drive, speed and height were just some factors that set him apart early. His discipline and completeness as a player and defender, from his time at UNC, also contributed greatly to his greatness. The decision to go pro was essentially made by those around him, seeing that he had gotten nearly everything he could out of the college game, racking up accolades each year.

MJ’s rebounding ability and natural instinct led him to the national championship game and his eventual game winner; to be a freshman on such a stage and to deliver was a sign of things to come. Leaving him off of the SI cover was a good tactic.
The brotherhood of chapel hill and dean smiths legend in black America, as wilbon put it, made the championship game that much more anticipated, vs the Hoyas and Ewing.

The insight into Pippen’s contract becoming one of a bygone financial era, and his subsequent trade was interesting, as were the personality traits of Krause and reinsdorf, both painted as equally tough to deal with.
Krause, believing management wins championships and not players or coaches, was always at odds with the team, which I recall from the last dance.
MJ’s relentless and unreachable qualities

The Last Dance, in its literature format; this has been an intriguing read so far, a bit more of a page turner than The Jordan Rules. I’ve enjoyed learning about the moving pieces in terms of management, coaching and players that were at play during the Bulls’ many championship runs. One thing that stood out the most was the mention of financial eras, and how quickly they moved. Krause doesn’t seem that good.
