Status Updates From Othello

Act 4 and beyond is where things start to get really good in my opinion as the stage that was set in the acts and scenes prior come to fruition with such a tragic ending. Desdemona’s death still confuses me a bit but other than that seeing Emilia’s rage and Iago’s upper hand within act 5 is just so good. Iago is hands down one of my favourite villains: “That’s he that was Othello: here I am.”

Still re-reading, should finish today. Though some parts still do bore me for the most part I still find the story so intriguing in its foreshadowing and characters despite on the surface most of the characters look blatantly ignorant or just dumb each of them are so interesting to analyse when considering their contextual backgrounds and stuff. “But men are men; the best sometimes forget.”

3rd time re-reading, once more for school. I’ve been mainly analysing and memorising quotes for this play and have honestly gained so much more respect for it compared to when I first read it. I’ve also seen it performed though that was over a year ago now. I’m really excited to re-read the entire thing cause I do love analysing Shakespeare works- that’s why Macbeth is one of my favourite books/plays.
