This kind of modernist steam of consciousness book is just 9 times out of 10 not gonna hold my attention. People describe being in awe by the prose. Are they actually in awe of the style? I find it hard to care about either. It loses my attention. It’s almost like staring at a page of completely random words

'hop onto the bandwagon' they said. 'it'll be fun' they said. fuck you. this book had me gasping for air like a dying dog from the first page.
