Status Updates From The Beauty of Games

Introduction is quite enchanting, first chapter (so far) is pretty dry and over-written with just enough of a compelling thesis to keep me going. Seems like Lantz is trying to thread a pretty tough needle by pitching this towards both aestheticist academics without a background in games AND game designers without a background in art history. Nevertheless, it's charming to stick an itch.io link in a footnote!

Lovely, so far.

I don’t think I’ve ever hated a book this much whose ideas I found this inoffensive.
