Anderson's writing style is definitely unique, but its pretty mid. I lost it when it directly said the Courtship of Leia. I also hate the whole chapter on blob racing. Like, come on.

I think it's a good idea (chapter two was really good), but the first chapter felt drawn out if not unnecessary, and there are a few too many plot conveniences (the crystal force predictor and the mental probe nub). Fun, but flawed. 2.75 so far
