Mann resorted to ad hominems and ad verecundiams that couldn't be more disingenuous and obvious. His style, in general, strikes me as dishonest, condescending, and pretentious.

Not only was Manns research funded by the NSF, the NSF also declined to publicize Manns code as that was his intellectual property, "a view which might have troubled any American taxpayers within earshot."

The faintest contact with any industry reliant on fossil fuels is seen as due reason to doubt the integrity of a scientist, but having his research funded by the far more powerful government isn't.
