It's a peculiar story so far, but quite interesting. Except for the fact that the main characters are smart and kind and the lower-class people are all depicted as incredibly dumb and without empathy. It's played for laughs but it annoys me. It indirectly supports the notion that wealthy people are inherently intellectually and emotional superior over poor people. I hope this changes as I continue to read.

Thoroughly enjoying this book. It's VERY funny and there are so many fantastic paragraphs:
"He did not like to give up on a suspect, having spent all summer successfully solving the strangling of Sister Cicely Sissons, the Sudbury Cistercian, only for her slayer to slip silently away."

Difficult to understand what the heck was happening in the first few chapters but, once it clicked, the book became as enjoyable as the author's other novels.
