Status Updates From Star Trek 5

THE WAY TO EDEN was another weird story (to me as a teen 1st watching). Why were hippies in ST:OS? They'd all dropped out of sight by my day... OK, ST:OS was in repeat by my teens and I may have missed 1st run because of TV was old B/W before I chipped in to buy a color set for us kids.

REQUIEM FOR METHUSELAH was an excellent story... perhaps not as interesting as some... but with a Love interest for Kirk and Methuselah its well worth the video. Now lets see how good an author Blish is... in writing about the love interest.. it takes skill to create imagery

TURNABOUT INTRUDER really sux as a story in video and prose.

TURNABOUT INTRUDER had to be one of (maybe) the worst episodes of ST:OS... watching a DEI episode of ST back then was amazingly difficult.

THIS SIDE OF PARADISE is a favorite of mine because Kirk has to provoke Spock out of his spore induced humors... and they have a fight in the transporter room... then they get the ship back (vague).

The Sci-fi TV show called Something is Out There, had a cute space alien on convict ship and an city police detective working together to stop and escaped xenomorph... back on the alien ship detective says set the self-destruct and we'll shuttle craft back to Earth... and cute space alien says, Self Destruct, what's that> detective explains and she laughs and says Why would a space ship have a self-destruct?

So much worse than the Tholean Web episode was LET THAT BE YOUR LAST BATTLEFIELD but the author is tempting fate to try and rescue this story. BTW, I felt the tholeans were easier to take in pose than in the video

The Tholean Web was one of my least favorite episodes... very boring; almost no Kirk to ham it up. Let's see if this author can do anything to spice it up.

WHOM GODS DESTROY isn't the episode title I'd expect for the shape shifting Garf (brilliant doctor on mental inst. colony) who was committed and became a master criminal waiting to take control of Enterprise... I wonder if they'll tell us Q:QR3 security line... (Blish wouldn't be faithful w/o it).
