This book is interesting af but damn Chapter 2: Womb, and the sections on the reproductive system/childbirth read like straight body horror

I had to put this down and take a walk. Women’s health is so near and dear to me and reading about how women weren’t required to be included in clinical trials until 1993, or how the fat our bodies naturally hold on to (and that women are so shamed for) is protective- so we can provide nutrients to children without depleting our own stores- made me sick to my stomach. And there is still so much book left.
