I’ve been skeptical of the push for NP and PAs in the recent years (not only bc it reinforces the individualistic ideals of capitalism) Less training for similar pay sounds real tempting for an individual, but the lack of training with increasing responsibility is actively harming patients. Yes, the flexibility of these careers is nice, but they ultimately cannot replace doctors as so many practices want to do.

This is making me sick to my stomach. I’ve been learning about the healthcare system for years and have seen these numbers on paper, but hearing these physicians’ stories is a whole new level. HOW IS THIS LEGAL?! WHY DONT WE CARE ABOUT THE WELL BEING OF PATIENTS?!
