Status Updates From The Doonesbury Chronicles

Still no page numbers, but I just completed reading part 4 of 5. Last time I wrote about wondering what happened to Phred. Today, I want to know what happened to the children who Joanie taught while she was living at Walden before she left for law school in California. What became of Howie and Ellie after they grew up and became adults? And, what of the boys who were mentored in these early strips?

Still no pages numbers, but I just completed the 3rd of 5 sections in this book. It has been a long strange adventure for these characters. I am currently wondering whatever happened to Phred? He was a key character for several years. I vaguely remember him eventually becoming successful in post war Vietnam, but I am not sure if that is just my imagination, or it was what happened to that character.

Still 0 page numbers in this book. However, I completed reading the second section and have begun reading the third section. There are were a lot of characters in these early comic strips who grew into very different people. This happens to people in real life, too.

These are some of the earliest strips and serve to introduce to an extremely youthful set of characters that bear little resemblance to those in the current comic strip. This is exactly like it is in real life.
